DIY All-Natural Facial

I’ve recently become really interested in making my own products to use as part on my skin care routine, since setting out on this natural journey of mine, I’m far more conscious about what I’m putting on my skin & the products that work & don’t work for me.

Previously I had just bought products that I guessed were good for me & spent lots of money in process without really observing what my skin was doing at the time & trying it once, it not working & then moving on to the next, which is not only not great for my purse strings but it also makes the whole beauty regime very wasteful.

So with that in mind I’m slowly making my way through all the products that I currently have & starting a fresh with only natural homemade products which will fit in perfectly with my new low waste, natural lifestyle.

Recently I’ve noticed I’ve been suffering with a break out of black heads, which I’m really struggling to shift & I’ve done some research & discovered at fallen in love with Hello Glow blog, it’s run by Stephanie Gerber & is a real haven for DIYs, Skin care & recipes using all natural ingredients.

I’m going to share a really simple solution for when your skin is craving a spa day & you looking for some easy self care. The basis of this is inspired by Hello Glows blog, but with a little twist from me.

All-Natural facial tea tree oil

To create this at home facial, all you really need are a few items which I have detailed below.

  • Heat proof glass bowl
  • Towel
  • Kettle
  • 1 drop of tea tree oil
  • 1 drop of lavender oil or a sprig of dried lavender

Now you’re just a few steps away from a peaceful facial which will open your pores and followed by a facial scrub (I’ve used an activated charcoal scrub) then finished with a moisturiser (I used coconut oil) you’ll be on your way to clear skin!*

Fill heat proof bowl with boiling water, about half full.

Add a drop of lavender & tea tree oil – lavender oil will help you relax & tea tree is a great anti bacterial agent.

With the towel over your head rest your face over the bowl (with your eyes closed), being careful not to touch the water & sit for 5-10 minutes before cleansing & moisturising.

Have you got a go-to facial routine?

*Please note this skincare routine is working me & my skin – what works for me, may not necessarily be what your skin is looking for. However this natural DIY is great for if you’re looking for a little self care solution too, so everything is worth a try!
