I’ve never been one to take tablets for anything if I’m feeling sick, headaches I usually sleep off, nausea I munch on a ginger biscuit & anything else I usually just breath through until I’ve fought it off. I started this year with a new leaf, to avoid putting unnecessary chemicals in to my body & strive to try to more natural, holistic methods, which of course included finding the perfect remedy for those winter colds.

Ingredients – serves 2 small cups.

4 cups of water or boil your kettle half full

2 inches of fresh stem ginger

1 lemon

1 tablespoon of raw honey

Method:

If you’re boiling your water on the hob, pour it in a small saucepan & place it on a medium heat until it starts to boil.

If you’re using your kettle, simple boil the water as normal.

Once your water is boiled transfer to a small saucepan (if using your kettle) or take it off the heat.

Finely slice your ginger & lemon & place in the saucepan.

Leave the lemon & ginger to soak for around 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Strain the off water into your favourite mug & stir in your honey.

Wrap up in a cosy blanket & enjoy!
